Today Fast Fashion is the Second Dirtiest Industry in the world and the second largest polluter which makes it certain that the fashion carbon footprint is tremendous. The pollutants also include the pesticides used in cotton farming, the toxic dyes used in manufacturing and the great amount of waste discarded clothing creates.
"Slow Fashion" is the movement of designing, creating, and buying garments for quality and longevity. It encourages slower production schedules, fair wages, lower carbon footprints, and (ideally) zero waste.
From Farmer to Weaver to Consumer..one can call this an organic chain of building a Sustainable future. This is what we believe to build in the coming years.
We always wanted our customers to connect with the "people who made the clothes" and "how the clothes were made".
For 6 months we traveled to various states in India to find the best handwoven fabrics. Our search ended in Gujarat where it is locally grown, the farmers do not use any pesticides and synthetic fertilizers therefore it is environmentally friendly and has a potential to create social value.
By adding transparency about our production process and educating consumers about the Indian craft we use, we hope consumers will begin to understand what is required of producing a well-made garment.
We want to contribute to end this Fast fashion trend and build a Slow Fashion trend which is here to stay and to give the coming generations a less polluted planet.
Help us to create this social change by welcoming slow fashion with open arms and Wear clothes that matter :)
